2018 Q5 from Audi was seen during Testing

Audi is currently testing the next-gen Q5 crossover.

Introducing the latest Audi A4, the producer wants to take advantage of its innovated lightweight MLB architecture in order to remove some weight from its crossover range.

Now the automaker is finishing its next-gen Q7. The model is scheduled to be presented in 2015. It is known that some of the Q7’s technologies will be present in the Audi’s 2018 Q5. The last one is going to lose 225 lbs thankfully to the innovated platform.

Besides the regular option of V4 and V6 petrol and diesel engines, the German automaker wants to offer the Q5 with a plug-in hybrid version having a fully-electric range of almost 30 miles. Expect the more powerful SQ5 soon after the model under consideration debuts.

According to the reports, the next-gen Audi Q5 will see the world in 2016. Then the automaker will expand its Q family. It is said to add a new Q6 with seven seats to the line-up. Expect more details on it in the middle of 2016.
