FCA CEO will keep the V8s

CEO of FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) is not going to ditch the eight-cylinder engines.

According to the rumours that were circulating not long ago, Dodge was supposed to ditch the Hellcat and HEMI eight-cylinder engines from its range. This move was explained by strict fuel economy regulations. The CEO of FCA is not going to axe the eight-cylinder motors. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is considered to be the industry’s largest consumer of emissions credits for the 2013. We know that it is purchasing most of its credits from Tesla.

Everybody knows that an automaker needs to have a certain amount of credits for selling vehicles in America. They can be either bought or earned by producing fuel-efficient units.

Speaking with Automotive News, Marchionne stated that every time they do one of those things, they offset. According to him, their biggest challenge now is to find a really compact vehicle of middle size.

Therefore, FCA and Dodge are not cutting their eight-cylinder engines.
