More Gears and More Power for the 2016 Honda Pilot

The Honda Pilot is receiving a power boost, new superflux trim level and new gear boxes for the next model year.

The seven-person hauler from Honda is still equipped with a 3.5-litre six-cylinder. Though now it generates 280 hp and torque of 262 lb-ft. In comparison with the previous variant, it received a 30 hp and 7 lb-ft boost. An innovated 6-speed automatic gear box came to change the old one (5-speed) on LX, EX-L trim Pilots. A new 9-speed automatic gear box can be obtained on the top-trim Touring and the latest Elite offerings.

Front-wheel drive is regular on the Pilot. An upgraded torque vectoring four-wheel drive setup can be obtained.

The innovated range-topping Elite trim comes with a panoramic sunroof. It also received trailer harness, auto LED headlamps, heated rear captain’s seats, a leather-wrapped heated helm, heated and ventilated front seats and rain sensing wipers.

Fuel economy and prices for the Pilot will be announced somewhere before the model’s launch which is scheduled for this summer.
