186 HP in the Hyundai i30 Turbo

Hyundai has presented the turbocharged i30 at the 85th Motor Show in Geneva.

Launched together with the revised i30 line-up, the new variant will be amidst those models which are at the top of the range. It is available in three- and five-door variants having more aggressive body, readjusted suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels and dual exhaust. It also received bi-xenon headlamps with daytime running lights from LED. The vehicle’s braking system has been changed to 300mm front ventilated discs along with 284mm massive rear discs.

Besides the facelift, the vehicle is equipped with a 1.6-litre V4 turbocharged petrol engine generating 186 hp (or 137 kW) and torque of 265 Nm (or 195 lb-ft) sent to the front axle with the help of a six-speed manual gear box. It gives the model a 0-62 mph (or 0-100 km/h) run in 8 seconds. As to the top speed, it is 136 mph (or 219 km/h).

The cabin has also been slightly revised. The offering received sports front seats with black headlining and contrasting stitching. An instrument cluster has also been revised.

Finally, sister vehicle Kia cee’d GT / pro cee’d has more power (at 204 hp) and is faster because it sprints in 7.7 seconds and can do 143 mph (or 230 km/h).
