A Hellcat engine for 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

Chrysler trademarked the moniker for Trackhawk in autumn of 2014. The moniker is used on a variant of Jeep Grand Cherokee with high performance.

If to believe sources from Car & Driver, the 2017 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will be a renamed variant of the Grand Cherokee SRT. Therefore, the offering will be equipped with a well-known 6.4-litre HEMI eight-cylinder engine sporting 475 hp (or 354 kW) and torque of 470 lb-ft (or 637 Nm). Thankfully to these characteristics, the model will be able to accelerate from 0-60 mph just in 4.8 seconds. Its top speed is limited at 160 mph (or 257 km/h).

If the clients still wish a more powerful offering, the automaker is going to offer the Trackhawk with the 6.2-litre supercharged eight-cylinder engine which equips the Challenger SRT Hellcat and Dodge Charger. This engine provides crazy 707 hp (or 527 kW) and torque of 650 lb-ft (or 880 Nm) in those offerings. Engineers are fighting to cope with that huge amount of power in the Grand Cherokee. Finally, they will have to limit the output of torque electronically or eschew the all-wheel drive system altogether.
