Lamborghini Asterion yield a Seat for Urus SUV Production

Lamborghini has put on ice its Asterion in order to head the Urus SUV to market till 2018.

Stephan Winkelmann, the automaker’s CEO says that it does not look like the offering will ever reach production. He explained in his interview with Autocar that despite the producer’s enthusiasts were ready for innovation with a hybrid technology, they wanted it to come out only with the benefit of more performance.

The vehicle under consideration was presented at the Motor Show in Paris in 2014. It looked as a larger and roomier Lamborghini with a hybrid powerplant. Though, it was not started as a track performance. The model was geared on acting as the ultimate high-end cruiser. It was supposed to expand the automaker’s reach with a more accessible model.

The model under consideration hides the 5.2-litre ten-cylinder engine under the hood. Such engine also equips the Huracan. It is joined to a 7-speed dual-clutch gear box and a lithium-ion battery. The total vehicle’s output is 910 hp. Get ready, the manufacturer revealed that the Asteroin could return 56 mpg on the EU test cycle. Unfortunately, the Urus SUV is considered to be more significant on the world market. It will increase sales for Lamborghini.
