Electric Compressor gives more HP to Audi SQ5 Gets 30

The latest SQ5 from Audi will get power from a 3.0-litre diesel equipped with the newest Auti tech. The unit will probably output 365 hp.

The powerplant chief at Audi shared with Autocar that the motor could generate as much as 390 hp thankfully to the technology from the SQ7 that has won an award. The new SQ5 will probably adopt a 48V electric system powering a compressor helping to deliver power faster.

Turbo lag comes limited as no exhaust pressure is required to move the electric compressor forcing air into the cylinders. According to the automaker, power can be delivered in less than 2550 milliseconds.

We remind you that the SQ7 boasts 2 regular, exhaust-driven turbos that work together with an electrically powered compressor. At the same time, the SQ5 will feature one regular turbo for working with the electric compressor. Actually, the same system used in the SQ7 helping it to become an Innovator of the Year (an award received from Autocar).

The latest offering features the same active anti-roll bars as the SQ7. They help it to corner flat, so all the power is put to the ground. The model under consideration will receive the Valvelifit System from the producer. This system enhances torque and reduces consumption of fuel. The thing is that it is able to very how far the valves can open.

There is information that the SQ6 will come down the production line next April.
