General Motors Returning 193,652 SUVs for Fire Threat

General Motors is returning 193,652 SUVs for a probable short in a circuit board that might likely cause a fire.

The affected cars are all from the 2006 and 2007 model years and feature the Chevrolet Trailblazer (EXT featured), GMC Envoy (XL featured), Buick Rainier, Saab 9-7x, and the Isuzu Ascender. The problem centers on a circuit board placed in the driver’s door that might corrode from liquid getting into the driver’s side door. If the board shorts out, the power door and window switches may stop working according to the American brand. Moreover, the circuit board can overheat, leading to smoke or even fire.

General Motors is advising drivers of the affected cars to park them outside until they can be fixed. The brand will be informing affected clients and dealerships will fix the cars for free.
