New Ford CEO Says We Will Have Wait Longer For Full Autonomy

According to new CEO at Ford, Jim Hackett, the advent of autonomous driving tech has been overhyped by the industry and press alike. Hackett is not going to count on expecting completely driverless vehicles in 2021.

He was asked if the Blue Oval is committed to coming up with a self-driving taxi fleet by 2021. Jim told that while the automaker will get advanced autonomous tech in market along the frame, the reality does not align with the aims of Mark Fields, the former CEO.

Hackett says it will be a progressive thing. So, expect a car that can drive anytime, anywhere and in any circumstance, in more than just 4 years.

The chief stated that a more real aim has to deal with partial autonomy, so that there would be a co-existence of artificial intelligence and drivers.
