Smartphone Integration Upgrade for Hyundai DIY

Hyundai drivers who want to upgrade their infotainment system to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay can obtain a do-it-yourself installation program for various models.

You can download the upgrade at MyHyundai.com. It is available for the latest versions of the Santa Fe, Tucson, Genesis, Elantra GT and Sonata. With the lapse of time the automaker will offer the upgrade for such models as the Veloster, Sonata Hybrid, Sonata Plug-In Hybrid and Azera.

All willing to install the upgrade will have to log into MyHyundai.com with the VIN number of their car. Then they need download the application update onto the SD card from the Navigation system or a USB memory stick. Then the card or memory stick should be inserted into the car and the update option should be chosen.

The whole process takes up to 4 hours. However, owners of the 2017 Santa Fe and some other cars can upgrade the infotainment system in 35 minutes.

The update can also be installed at the local Hyundai dealership starting from June. They will have to pay an installation fee.
