Hybrid Sedan from Infiniti about to Develop 700 HP

It becomes obvious that not only Porsche Panamera can boast stunning hybrid power. Infiniti is to prove it.

The Japanese brand has set its hopes high for the next sedan planned to be vested with minimal 700-hp output. Not so long ago Infiniti has announced that hybrid GT-R of 2016 model year will carry minimum 800 hp. Q50 Eau Rouge has already been equipped with the same engine as GT-R, so nothing stops the company from conducting the same operation with the next sedan.

Infiniti claims that the new car will soon be released. Though occupying a niche of a luxury vehicle, the new sedan will hardly be so posh as S-Class from Mercedes-Benz: this time the carmaker decided to dial down on luxury and produce something powerful and sport instead. Hybrid turbo engine for six cylinders and displacement of 3.7 litres will provide for 700 hp. Apart from that, the company will offer a smaller V6 producing approximately 550 hp. Bosses of Infiniti and Nissan state that hand-built six-cylinder motors used in GT-R cars of next generation will become easier in their structure as well as more effective in terms of environment protection and fuel consumption.

It is expected that the new sedan will enrich the line-up of Eau Rouge with Q80 and Q90 submodels. A car with a smaller engine will cost from $100,000. Buyers opting for a 3.7-litre motor variant will have to pay nearly $50,000 more.
