Jaguar F-Type Coupe to be More Expensive than Convertible

Jaguar is going to bring a production concept variant of its hardtop F-Type to Frankfurt in September before uncovering the showroom-ready variant in Tokyo during late November.

Remarkably, Jaguar is also going to ask an extra price over the convertible F-Type, according to a report from Drive. It wouldn’t be the only automaker currently following that kind of pricing policy either. Porsche charges clients more for the Cayman than the Boxster.

Partially that could be caused due to the coupe’s potential for enhanced performance credentials. It will be stiffer and lighter without the cloth top and all its gear. Jaguar will offer an even hotter R-S variant of the vehicle that will borrow pieces from the XKR-S GT. That vehicle will probably have a more potent variant of the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 massaged to make over 540 hp in comparision to the current range-topper’s current 495 hp rating.
