Rumors Jaguar F-Type GT Power of 600-HP

With Jaguar’s recently released F-Type representing the top of the auto maker’s performance vehicles, look for an extra high-performance GT to be added to the lineup in the future.

In a fresh interview Jaguar Engineered to Order (ETO) section head Pete Simkin commented that, “We would surely look at the business case for an F-type GT,” and that, “… we hope the XK GT is only the beginning.”

Unlikely until at least 2016, expect new models to arrive first, including R and R-S vehicles with top high standards of performance.

Rumored to already be in the constructing stage, Jaguar head Adrian Hallmark has informed that engineers have set experiments with higher-output models of the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 found in the XKR-S GT, which already makes an unbelievable 542 hp. That said, the F-Type model could pride as much as 600 hp!

Rather than being driven by income Hallmark considers such vehicles are important to investigate engineering updates and grow brand fame. “Certainly, constructing a run of 30 to 50 unique GTs isn’t going to have any impact on the company’s sales terms, but the importance of these projects is in the experience they give us,” he announced. “Jaguar is already famous for its ability to desing sporty, dynamic vehicles, but the XKR-S GT project has shown us that we can learn more by blazing the trial. Lessons learned from the dynamics, aero and braking work on that model will access the mainstream.”

Before any more duplicates of the F-Type arrive, however, expect the brand-new extra high performance GT to be based on the XF sedan, as it will likely be changed soon and will leave the market with its most extraordinary vehicle yet.
