Lexus Might Consider Convertibles in Future

Nevertheless the articles about the Lexus LF-C2 concept will not be headed to manufacturing, the Japanese company is thinking on a convertible offering for its range.

Jeff Bracken, general manager of Lexus Division stated that the LF-C2 is completely a concept. Also he stated that it is not slated for manufacturing now, though a source which knows the automaker’s plans has disclosed to Automotive News information about considering a convertible.

The significant question is if it will be an RC convertible of a more distinct drop-top variant of the LF-LC concept which was present on the demonstration at the Auto Show in Detroit two years ago. The model would be a top offering which would enhance the company, but an RC convertible would have a lower price and probably be sold quicker.

The automaker is going to stop at an innovated three-row crossover variant which can compete with the Audi Q7 and BMW X5 till the time it makes a decision on what to do as a change for the IS convertible.

Bracken told Automotive News they really think there is a market for convertibles in the segment of enhanced comfort and that it is not a large volume for them.
