Paparazzi caught 2018 Lexus ES Mule

The 6-gen Lexus ES was only 4 years ago, but the automaker turned out to be developing the next-gen offering.

The model was photographed during testing in the US. The early mule is a bug-eyed monster that is a little bit similar to the production car. The mule dos not hint at the coming-soon sedan, but according to speculation, the vehicle will feature a refined L-Finesse styling. Gossips also suggest that the car will be bigger thankfully to an extended chassis.

Lexus does not spill light on the next-gen ES. However, we found out that it will be equipped with the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) used in the Prius. In such a way, the ES will still be based on a FWD platform.

We do not know the engine options at the moment. Probably the car will come out with a six-cylinder unit and a hybrid powerplant. The specifications remain unconfirmed. We know that the current vehicle rides with a 3.5-litre six-cylinder unit generating 268 hp and torque of 248 pound-feet. In such a way the vehicle can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 7.1 seconds and its top speed equals to 130 mph.

The future Lexus ES will debut un 2018 or 2019.
