British tuning firm BBR has been providing turbo upgrade kits for MX-5s from Mazda since the time the original offering was launched back in 1990.
Now it is the launched kit for the newest 2015-on Mk4 MX-5 2.0-litre and, moreover, this introductory “Stage 1” upgrade produces 248 hp and torque of 236 lb-ft.
With all that, the BBR MX-5 Turbo receives a top speed of 155 hp. It is able to sprint 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds. BBR boasts that there will be factory levels of finish, no nasty new engine mannerisms and full MOT emissions compliance. The unit can be fully revised.
The top power is received at 7,150 rpm from the boosted Skyaktiv-G engine. Peak torque is delivered at 3,250 rpm.
The kit is also possible to obtain in America with the help of distributor Flyin’ Miata. It has been developed for 3 years.
