The 4th-gen Mercedes-Benz A-Class presents the automaker’s innovated MBUX infotainment system. It also can be shared without physically handing over a set of keys.
The head of Mercedes-Benz stated that the new A-Class is going to support casual private vehicle sharing with family and friends. An authorized person will have an opportunity to open the vehicle with the help of the Mercedes Me application for a predefined period of time.
The unit also gets the extended car exit warning system. It keeps a lock out for cyclists for approximately 3 minutes after parking.
Differently from the system in the A8 from Audi, the unit under consideration does not actively prevent one from opening the door. It consists of audio and visual notification to make you to pay attention and prevent a coming together of the cyclist and the door.
