The choice of car buyers, whose sales start in the summer, will be three basic versions.
This is the initial GT 53, with turbocharged V6 power of 435 hp. (520 Nm) and an auxiliary 22-strong starter-generator, which helps in the first seconds of acceleration and is able to muffle and quickly start the main engine while driving. And two "pure gasoline" - GT 63 and GT 63 S, with twin-turbocharged V8 4.0 with the system of switching off part of the cylinders at low loads. In a quieter performance this engine produces 585 hp. (800 Nm), and in the forced - already 639 hp. (900 Nm). All these modifications come with a nine-speed "automatic" AMG Speedshift MCT 9G.
For some customers, it will be important that the top version of the GT 63 S is not much, but still makes the closest competitor - the most powerful 680-horsepower Panamera S E-Hybrid. If it accelerates to "hundreds" in 3.4 seconds at a maximum speed of 310 km / h, the owner of the three-beam star does the same procedure in 3.2 seconds at a maximum of 315 km / h. For comparison, the partially hybrid GT 53 accelerates to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds. and is able to score "only" 285 km / h, and for a simple GT 63 the same numbers are 3.4 seconds. and 310 km / h respectively.
