New Names for Mercedes Vehicles Will Debut in LA

Mercedes is going to modernize the naming structure of its vehicles starting with the M-Class SUV and will begin their plan next month in Los Angeles.

The automaker has not officially confirmed the changes yet. Nevertheless, a report at Motoring.com.au states that the initial transition will happen in the next month already. Mercedes is going to change from concerning its mid-size SUV, alike the M-range to the GLE. The transition will put it into one range with the other practical models which are being sold currently by the automaker.

The company’s aim is to be in competition with BMW. It is going to field a rival to X6 styled ass a coupe with an M-Class / GLE model which will have name the GE Coupe. By adding an “E” to the nameplate’s end, the automaker believes that the model will be aligned with the sedan of E-Class in the eyes of the customers.

Likely, the automaker is going to change the GLK compact crossover’s name as the GLC in order to it to be more in range with the C-Class. The same will happen to GL which is going to change its name into GLS for aligning with the S-Class.
