MINI Minor is set for Release in the Second Part of 2018

British press states that a new MINI Minor will be launched in the second part of 2018 or the first part of 2019.

The company owned by BMW has declared a desire for a new MINI since the second part of 2013. The point is that the automaker cannot build on the UKL platform and therefore they try to join up with another producer. Toyota is a viable candidate, states a report from January. According to it, BMW is discussing a possible co-developing of anentry-level hatchback with the Japanese brand. The hatchback will probably receive the body of a MINI Minor.

CAR states that the offering will be launched either in the second part of 2018 or at the beginning of 2019. The vehicle should be only 3450 mm in length, just as the new Smart ForFour. The report specifies the base model’s price, which will start at €12,500. At the same time the fully-loaded variant will cost around €13,500.

Early sketches depict a mix of the Paceman and Rocketman concept whereas the MINI Minor will receive a special kind of roof with a double bubble back section. The vehicle should also be decorated with a trapezoidal grille and Union Jack taillights.

The variant of Toyota will probably return the Starlet moniker first used sixteen years ago. The offering is rumoured to replace the iQ.
