Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Version Strictly Framed to 1,963 Models

50 years ago, did Porsche realize the 911 would someday define the word: sports vehicle?

Half a century later and that’s definitely the outcome, with Porsche revealing a very special limited variant of its legendary rear-motor coupe to celebrate the event.

Enhanced by the brand’s 3.8-liter flat-6 motor with the refreshed Powerkit, motor output increases to 430 hp and features the Sport Chrono Set. Hitting 60 mph in 4.2 sec, or only 3.8 sec with the 7-speed dual clutch PDK it can bast on to a highest speed of 186 mph.

Creating it ultra particular is the fact that this properly rear-drive car utilizes the automaker’s wider body used for all-wheel drive Carrera 4 applications.

The vehicle’s exclusivity doesn’t end here. Along with a “black monochrome” paint scheme, 2 custom colors are offered: dark graphite grey and a light geyser grey metallic. On the rear of each vehicle is a 2-done 3D-effect badge that reads “911 50″, with the same motif on the headrests, door sills, tachometer and on the cup holder panel, along with the limited edition quantity of the vehicle.

Exclusively 1,963 models will be delivered (referencing the year the 911 came into being), coming at Porsche dealers this Fall and priced around $124,100, plus a $950 delivery fee.

Porsche is going to reveal the car at the Frankfurt Auto Show on September 12.
