Toyota named it a cloaking device. Not much info is available now.
The company’s cloaking device will not make the vehicles invisible, but it is developed to make proportions of the car disappear for the driver. This means that the automaker is planning to help person at the helm to see around usual automotive blind spots, for example, windshield A-pillars.
We suppose that the idea is to use external cameras to show an image to a display with a complex set of mirrors. Then it could reflect everything onto the pillar surface inside the vehicle. In the result, it will be possible to see through the pillar.
